Back ground:

The Urban Development Research Institute was set up on 01 August 2001, at Hyderabad with the prime focus on “Character Building Programme” in the mind sets of the citizens across the nation / world. It is indeed that a person cannot develop by virtue of only “Education”. Education becomes perfect only when it is coupled The aspects of CHARACTER AND CULTURE.

As everyone knows that the term of CULTURE does not happen to be a commodity for purchase in the open market. Good Culture can be inherited only through the means of GOOD TRAINING.In turn, GOOD TRAINING happens to be the out put of the GOOD EDUCATION .When all these things like GOOD EDUCATION, GOOD TRAINING, and GOOD CULTURE are comprehensively integrated into one aspect, it becomes GOOD CHARACTER, Which, in turn,Weaves a thread for Nation - Building Programmes.

In the aforesaid way,the UDRTI has been trying to access the CITIZENS through urban local bodies of India for the smooth payment of mandatory dues like property tax,vacant land tax,water charge,advertisement tax, and other non-tax dues to the various urban local bodies and to other service providers by it’s ASSESSES & RESIDENTS. To make it in a nutshell, the UDRTI plays a pivotal role in bridging the GAP between CITIZENS and Urban Local Bodies in India. The UDRTI has been set up in the PRIVATE SECTOR with the aim of providing innovative and research services in the segments of TRAINING and CONSULTING, which shall be most useful to the amenity providers like municipalities,water works and electricity etc.To make it clearer,the UDRTI happens to be the first of its kind institute in its discipline in the entire country.

Director’s Back Ground

The UDRTI has been headed by its founder director Mr. P. Narsing Rao. Mr. Rao was born on 11-10-1950 at Hyderabad.

Shri Rao underwent his schooling in Vivekavardhan promoted by late Sri. Vaman Naik at Jambagh in Hyderabad and did his B.Com in Osmania University during the year 1972. Further he had completed Post Graduation in Commerce from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati during the year 1977. In addition to the above, he had also done Post-Graduate Diploma in Urban Development and Management in a Private Institute at Bangalore during 1990. Mr. Rao worked in the following departments during the period mentioned against.

The total length of experience in Government of Andhra Pradesh & Government of India was of about 32 years.

Availed VRS benefit in the post of Manager (Fin & Accts.) from APIDC Ltd. (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation Ltd) at Hyderabad w.e.f. 01/08/2001 i.e. almost one decade ahead of his superannuation. Thereafter, he began concentrating on Urban Development subject and started his own Organization namely URBAN DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH INSTITUTE (UDRTI) at Hyderabad on 01 August, 2001.

Having participated in about 250 workshops so far, and having made presentations in about 100 workshops in INDIA and Overseas , Mr. Rao has gained adequate professionalism in conducting Training programmes and also extending Consultancy Services. He also presented Articles on the above subject in international conferences that were held in Delhi, MUMBAI & BANGALORE, Luven (Belgium)
